Spain, on the edge of a financial cliff, cancels all development aid to Latin America — MercoPress: "“Unfortunately there will be no funds available for development in 2012”, said a Spanish Foreign Affairs ministry source. “Budget cuts have been across the line and that includes overseas aid”.
Foreign minister Jose Manuel García Margallo during his presentation before the Spanish congress Cooperation committee last March anticipated that the cuts were coming, even “when they are an extremely painful option” for the government."
