Ahmadinejad: World Should Believe In Iranian Nation
Volleyball Victory Unprecedented
TEHRAN, Aug. 27--President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulated the victory of Iran’s Junior National Volleyball Team at the Youth World Championships in Mexico on Monday.
After hearing the news of Iran winning the first volleyball crown, the president said the world should believe in the Iranian nation.
“The victory of the young volleyball players brought honor and pride to the Iranian nation,“ he said.
“These youths are the assets of the Iranian nation who will take us to the zenith of glory and progress.“
Ahmadinejad stressed that today the path is open for the progress of Iranian youth in all fields.
He thanked the coaches and officials of the Iranian volleyball team, and stressed that the government will support all athletes in the international arena.
The president felicitated the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the Iranian nation over the victory.
Ahmadinejad also sent a congratulatory message to the volleyball team, which won the title after beating China 3-2.
